Advantages

EFFICIENT THERMAL BARRIER
Continuous insulation with a stable and permanent insulation value. Installation of ISOFIX 160 rigid insulation eliminates undesirable heat transfer zones called thermal bridges.

THE EFFICIENCY OF INTEGRATED GROOVES
Suitable for multiple applications. The depth and width of ISOFIX 160 panel grooves allow for the complete insertion of 1″ x 3″ wood furring strips. This helps to eliminate the air gap found between insulation and the interior finish and/or ensure a good backing for cladding if several panels overlap.

INSTALLATION: MORE VERSATILITY
Versatile. Lightweight. Convenient. ISOFIX 160’s built-in 5/8″ grooves (located at 16″ intervals) make the installation of furring strips faster and easier. Versatile on the jobsite, ISOFIX 160 is suitable for multiple applications.

Cathedral ceiling insulation

Exterior

  1. Install an air barrier / vapour barrier membrane over the entire roof surface.
  2. Seal all joints of the air barrier / vapour barrier membrane with vapour barrier tape.
  3. Install self-adhesive sealing membrane to ensure airtightness and watertightness at the roof/wall joint.
  4. Install insulation, grooved side out, and 1″ x 3″ wood furring strips in the grooves provided for this purpose.
    • The number of layers of insulating panels and their thickness will be determined by the insulating value required.
  5.  Install necessary furring strips to create the required ventilated air space between the top of the insulation and the underside of the roof support (if specified in the building code in your area).
  6. Install plywood.
  7. Install the roofing membrane (if noted by project requirements).
  8. Install roof covering.

*Install roof edge, ventilated soffit and metal flashing.

Above-grade wall insulation

Exterior

  1. Install the insulation horizontally on the wood studs, grooved side outward.
  2. Temporarily attach with nails or screws and supporting washers.
  3. Install the 1″ x 3″ wood furring strips in the grooves provided for this purpose.
  4. Add an air/weather barrier and seal according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
  5. Install exterior wall cladding.

Above-grade wall and ceiling insulation

Interior

  1. Install the insulation on the wall or ceiling with the grooved side facing inward.
  2. Temporarily attach with nails or screws and supporting washers.
  3. Install the 1″ x 3″ wood furring strips in the grooves provided for this purpose.
  4. Install a vapour barrier.
  5. Seal the vapour barrier at the intersection of openings, floors and ceilings with a vapour barrier tape.
  6. Cover with thermal barrier (gypsum).

Foundation insulation

Interior

  1. Install the insulation vertically on the wall, with the grooved side facing inward.
    • Renovation: Make sure to repair cracks or infiltration issues before beginning any work.
  2. Fasten the panels mechanically by inserting the 1″ x 3″ wood furring strips in the grooves provided for this purpose.
  3. Seal joints at the intersection of openings, floors and ceilings with caulking/sealant, so that there is no air gap between the concrete wall and insulation.
  4. Install vapour barrier.
  5. Seal the vapour barrier at the intersection of openings, floors and ceilings with a vapour barrier tape.
  6. Cover with thermal barrier (gypsum).

Over-slab insulation

Renovation

  1. Existing concrete slab: Make sure to repair cracks or infiltration issues before beginning any work.
  2. Install a vapour barrier polythene over the entire surface to ensure airtightness, moisture protection and soil gas control.
  3. Install the insulation on the required surface, with the grooved side up.
  4. Install the 1″ x 3″ wood furring strips in the grooves provided for this purpose.
  5. Install plywood.
  6. Install floor covering.
